About Yarra Valley

The Yarra Valley is well known for its great wines, although it is also a really pretty place for you to explore. The area is ideal for cycling around, and offers some good bushwalking trails. Many walking tracks can be found within the numerous National Parks in the Yarra Valley, including the King Lake National Park, Warrandyte State Park and the Yarra Ranges National Park. For cyclists, follow the picturesque Centenary Trail between Lilydale and Warburton. The ride is 38km, but the scenery is perfect.

If you'd prefer to travel by car there are a number of scenic drives you can take. A few drives which are worthwhile include along Acheron Way, Woods Point Road, and the drive between Healesville, Marysville and Warburton. Marysville is a truly wonderful little town, in the perfect setting. There are a number of waterfalls and bushland walks in the Cumberland Scenic Reserve. You can also visit Victoria's highest waterfall, Stevenson's Falls. They are spectacular to see at night when they are floodlit. There is also a glorious drive around the area on Lady Talbot Drive.

Other places to visit around the Yarra Valley include the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary, the Aboriginal cultural centre Galeena Beek Living Cultural Centre, and the Gulf Station, a National Trust farm.
