About The Dandenongs

The highest point of the Dandenong Ranges is Mt Dandenong, which stands at 633 metres high. Various forest parks and beautiful gardens make up the spectacular Dandenong Ranges. These include the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens, Doongalla Forest, Ferntree Gully National Park, National Rhododendron Gardens (which offers areas to hold wedding ceremonies for a fee), Sherbrooke Forest, and William Ricketts Sanctuary - a place of beauty and tranquility.

A great way to see the Dandenongs is on 'Puffing Billy' a steam train that puffs its way around the beautiful landscape. There are also several relaxing places to stay including hotel and apartment style accommodation within the Dandenongs, where you can escape from everything.
